band

Claude says:Long Beach indie rockers who met at Biola University and took their name from a statue-less Communist-era park in Budapest. Matt Maust coined "Cold War Kids" in 1997 during travels through Eastern Europe, repurposing it years later when the band formed above a Fullerton restaurant called Mulberry Street in 2004. You had a few hundred stray plays scattered across a dozen years before Cold War Kids truly clicked in August 2021, and since then you've worked through nearly all of their catalog — Mine Is Yours, Dear Miss Lonelyhearts, and Hold My Home lead the way, but you circle back to Robbers & Cowards and its caffeinated anthem "Hang Me Up to Dry" just as often.
