Claude says:After original guitarist Jonnie Russell left, Cold War Kids brought in Dann Gallucci (formerly of Modest Mouse) to co-produce this fourth album and push toward spacious, electronic-leaning arrangements inspired by New Order and Depeche Mode — a conscious pivot from their usual grit-rock. You grabbed it right when it came out in April 2013, spent the spring wearing out Miracle Mile and Lost That Easy, then let it sit for years before rediscovering it in late 2018 and finding deeper footholds in Loner Phase and Bottled Affection.
