Claude says:Cold War Kids decamped to Nashville for three months with Jacquire King (the producer behind Kings of Leon's arena pivot) to make their third album, trading their earlier blues-rock brood for a cleaner, more direct indie sound built around personal relationships instead of folk tales. You grabbed it the month it came out in early 2011 and ran Bulldozer and the title track hard through that spring, then kept circling back in waves — 2013, a big 2019–2020 run, another in 2021–2022, and you're still dropping in on it now.
