Claude says:Beck Hansen turned a 1993 slacker-rap novelty called "Loser" into a major-label deal, then spent the next three decades proving he was the opposite: a meticulous collagist pulling from folk, funk, soul, hip-hop, country, and psychedelia, stacking samples and live instruments into postmodern pop art that won Grammys and baffled genre purists. You had a handful of stray plays in 2006–2008, but it really took hold in mid-2009 with Guero, the 2005 album that brought back Odelay's sample-based crunch—"E-Pro," "Hell Yes," and "Black Tambourine" still lead your most-played tracks. You've cycled back every few years since, leaning hardest in 2016 and again in 2022–2025, treating him less like a phase and more like a reliable pivot when you want clever without trying too hard.
