American Christian art rock band

Claude says:Young Oceans started as an offshoot worship project in a SoHo apartment, where songwriter Eric Marshall and musicians from Trinity Grace Church in New York explored re-renderings of his hymns into long, contemplative pieces meant for meditation more than congregational singing. Their self-titled debut was named a top ten album of 2012 by RELEVANT Magazine, and the Advent EP emerged after delays from Hurricane Sandy, which knocked out power to their Red Hook, Brooklyn studio and stranded the producer's car in the gas-line chaos. You picked them up in early 2013 and played them most heavily that year and through 2016 — spending time with the Advent material — before they faded into occasional visits and a final play last fall.
