English alternative rock band

This East Sussex piano rock band — Tom Chaplin singing, Tim Rice-Oxley on keys, no lead guitar in sight — topped the UK charts with Hopes and Fears in 2004, selling over 13 million records worldwide and proving you could headline stadiums without a six-string. You latched on in late 2006, riding both that debut and Under the Iron Sea hard for a year, then left them mostly dormant until a quiet resurgence around 2022 and a much stronger return from late 2024 forward. "Somewhere Only We Know" and "Is It Any Wonder?" still do the work.
