Armenian-American heavy metal band

This Armenian-American metal band from Glendale started in 1994 and broke through with politically charged songs — "B.Y.O.B." (a Grammy winner) skewers war, "Prison Song" takes on the prison-industrial complex — anchored by Serj Tankian's wild vocals and Daron Malakian's thrashing riffs. You had a lone pair of plays in 2006 that went nowhere, then Toxicity finally clicked in early 2007; the real surge came in mid-2012, probably during a nu-metal phase, and now it's back in rotation after years away, proof that Chop Suey still hits.
