American rock band

Claude says:Birmingham's Remy Zero formed in the late '80s around brothers Cinjun and Shelby Tate, named after a mysterious railroad worker whose voice appeared on old 4-track tapes — or maybe after a fictional prophet, depending on which interview you believe. Radiohead plucked them from obscurity for The Bends tour before they'd even released an album, and though their 2001 record The Golden Hum gave them a decade-long Smallville theme and sync placements everywhere, it was also their last before breaking up. You circled back to them in late 2006 and then hit Villa Elaine hard in early 2013, leaning on "Prophecy" and "Fair" — the sweeping, aching stuff that made Zach Braff's whole aesthetic possible.
