American musician (born 1947)

Claude says:James Newell Osterberg Jr., born in 1947, fronted proto-punk legends the Stooges and earned the title "Godfather of Punk" for his confrontational performances — stage-dives, broken glass, bare-chested chaos. After fleeing to West Berlin with Bowie to kick their addictions, he made The Idiot and Lust for Life in 1977, writing lyrics while Bowie shaped the sound. You've got two plays of "The Passenger" years apart, a song too iconic to ignore but not one you've ever leaned into.
