American folk rock band

Dawes is the Los Angeles folk rock band led by brothers Taylor and Griffin Goldsmith, formed after they ditched their earlier indie outfit Simon Dawes and dove into Laurel Canyon revivalism — their debut North Hills was cut live to analog tape in 2009, part of informal sessions with Conor Oberst and Benmont Tench. You latched on in early 2013 with a concentrated run through North Hills and a few scattered follow-ups, then mostly stepped away until 2021, when something pulled you back for a steady three-year stretch that's only recently started to taper off.
