music and theatre organization

Claude says:The performance art trio from Manhattan's Lower East Side — three friends who painted themselves blue, stayed mute, and built a whole vocabulary out of drums, PVC pipes, and wide-eyed bewilderment — started as street theater in 1987 and became an off-Broadway fixture at Astor Place by 1991. You caught on in fall 2006 with Audio and The Complex, playing them heavily for over a year before interest cooled; a handful of scattered plays followed through 2012, but the novelty had worn off.
