folkfolk pop

The Paper Kites are a Melbourne indie rock/folk rock band who've been making music since 2009, built around Sam Bentley and Christina Lacy's songwriting partnership. At The Roadhouse leans into their Americana side — pedal steel, dusty harmonies, road-weary balladry that sounds like it belongs in a canyon somewhere west of Nashville. You picked it up in fall 2024 and played eight different tracks across two months, with "Till the Flame Turns Blue" and "Midnight Moon" heard most often before you moved on.
