Claude says:The Avett Brothers — Scott on banjo, Seth on guitar, both singing — came out of Concord, North Carolina, blending bluegrass, punk energy, and pop concision into something the San Francisco Chronicle once likened to "the heavy sadness of Townes Van Zandt, the light pop concision of Buddy Holly." This 2020 EP is stripped-down Avett: banjo, acoustic guitar, close harmonies, songs that feel like they were written around a kitchen table. A few plays in late 2020 didn't register, but it clicked for you in early 2021 and has been a steady presence ever since — you keep going back to "Victory," "Untitled #4," and "Back Into The Light."
