Claude says:STP's third album arrived in March 1996 after a disastrous stretch — Scott Weiland's escalating heroin use derailed early sessions, and while he was holed up at the Chateau Marmont, the DeLeo brothers and Eric Kretz nearly replaced him, forming Talk Show with a new singer. The record they eventually made together at Westerly Ranch turned out to be a complete reinvention, swapping grunge grit for glam-tinged psychedelia. You played it twice over a two-year span, with "Trippin' on a Hole in a Paper Heart" the only track that stuck.
