Claude says:STP's second record expanded past Core's grunge blueprint into psychedelic rock and blues, recorded mostly at Southern Tracks in Atlanta in early 1994 after Brendan O'Brien helped them flesh out the arrangements. It debuted at number one and spawned a run of hits — "Vasoline" and "Interstate Love Song" both topped the Mainstream Rock chart — though critics were lukewarm until years later when it got reappraised as a "psychedelic grunge opus." You had a lone play back in 2011, another in 2017, then finally gave it real attention in summer 2025, three decades after release, leaning hardest on "Vasoline," "Big Empty," and "Interstate Love Song."
