Claude says:Snow Patrol's second album came out in 2001, delayed six months while Gary Lightbody kept writing — including "Run," which made it onto Final Straw instead and became their breakthrough. This one stalled at #129 in the UK and barely registered until a later re-release pushed it to gold, but it earned a #50 spot on CMJ's chart and got called a "classic" by Hot Press. You grabbed it in early 2007, well after Final Straw made them unavoidable, and spent a month working through the noisier, scrappier version of the band — "Never Gonna Fall in Love Again" and "Black and Blue" still get the occasional spin when you circle back.
