Claude says:John Anderson built his name on a backwoods drawl and old-school country instincts, moving from Florida rock bands to Nashville honky-tonks before breaking through in the early '80s as a New Traditionalist alongside Ricky Skaggs and George Strait. This 2020 live album catches him covering Merle Haggard's signature tune with the grit and plainspoken authority he's carried for decades. One stray play in late 2022 didn't take, but you circled back a few months later and the title track became a keeper.
