Claude says:Gregory Alan Isakov is a South African-born singer-songwriter who's spent most of his life in the U.S., splitting time between gardens and touring with a quietly powerful blend of indie folk and careful, nature-steeped lyrics. This is a single — a cover of the Mazzy Star classic — and it catches his voice in its most restrained mode, leaning into the original's ache without trying to rewrite it. You played it once this spring, long enough to see how he handles someone else's longing, but it didn't stick around.
