Claude says:Daniel James records as Canon Blue out of Nashville, blending electronic production with folk warmth and a knack for place-name titles. Rumspringa — his second album, with contributions from Amiina and Slaraffenland — leans into glitchy, atmospheric pop that feels both wintry and oddly comforting. You grabbed it two years after release and burned through it in a single December week, cycling hardest through "A Native (Madison)" and the string of city-stamped tracks that give the record its travelogue feel.
