Claude says:Bloc Party holed up in rural Ireland with Jacknife Lee to make their second album something more than just another guitar record — strings, electronics, processed beats, Kele Okereke writing about drugs and sexuality and the creeping dread of media-fuelled panic in mid-2000s London. You had a handful of scattered plays in 2007 that went nowhere, then it properly clicked a year after release and you burned through it hard in 2008, wearing out "Song for Clay" and "Hunting for Witches" before letting it go quiet for over a decade until it came roaring back in 2025.
