Claude says:Howard's debut rewired British folk-acoustic when it landed in 2011, built on fingerpicked patterns and crashing, percussive crescendos that feel bigger than one man and a guitar — the Mercury Prize nomination and later Brit Awards bump proved the instinct right. You grabbed it within months of release in early 2013 and wore it hard that winter, then let it rest for years before it came back into regular orbit from 2021 onward. The Fear and Old Pine still anchor the thing, but you've clearly spent time with the deeper album tracks — These Waters, the surging Promise — not just the singles.
