Irish rock band

Dublin's most globe-conquering act — Bono, the Edge, Adam Clayton, Larry Mullen Jr. — started as post-punk teenagers at Mount Temple and grew into the anthemic, spiritually charged rock juggernaut that filled stadiums and topped charts from War through The Joshua Tree, then swerved into ironic, electronic reinvention with Achtung Baby and the Zoo TV spectacle before pulling back to safer ground in the 2000s. You had a couple of stray plays in 2006, then it actually took in late that year, with bursts through 2007, 2009, and a peak in mid-2012 when you leaned hard on How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb and the Best Of compilations. Since then it's been lighter but steady — Pop and Songs of Innocence still turn up, and you circled back to All That You Can't Leave Behind and The Joshua Tree as recently as this year.
