American rock band from Los Angeles, California

Claude says:Los Angeles rock band fronted by Mikel Jollett, a former writer who turned to songwriting after a brutal March 2006 — breakup, his mom's cancer diagnosis, and his own autoimmune disease all hit in one week. Named after a passage in Don DeLillo's White Noise, they're known for weaving strings (often the Calder Quartet) into full-throated rock arrangements. You had a couple stray plays in early 2012, but it really took hold that November with All At Once, and after nearly a decade away, you came back hard in 2022 — "Sometime Around Midnight" and that whole first record still hit.
