band

Minneapolis band that started at Carleton College in 2003 and became one of the early "blog band" success stories after their 2005 debut The Loon caught fire on Pitchfork and a string of mid-2000s music blogs. You picked them up in August — The Loon hit hard right away, and you worked through the album front to back, from "Insistor" to "Jakov's Suite," leaning on the scrappy, jittery energy they share with Pavement and the Pixies.
