American singer-songwriter (born 1941)

Claude says:Paul Frederic Simon was born in 1941 and became half of Simon & Garfunkel in the 1960s before going solo in the '70s with a run of genre-hopping albums that pulled in gospel, reggae, and soul. His 1986 masterpiece Graceland brought South African rhythms to American pop and remains his commercial and critical peak. You had a lone play back in 2013, another in 2014, a couple in 2017, but it didn't actually take until mid-2022 when you dug in for real — mostly Graceland and the self-titled 1972 record, the latter still in rotation as recently as this spring.
