Claude says:P.O.D. started as Payable on Death in San Diego in 1992, the name a reference to Jesus settling humanity's debt through the cross — a Christian banking metaphor pitched by drummer Wuv Bernardo's girlfriend. They broke through with The Fundamental Elements of Southtown in 1999, then went triple platinum with Satellite and its inescapable "Youth of the Nation." For you, they clicked in fall 2006 during that album's long wake, stayed close through early 2007, then mostly vanished until scattered revisits years later. A big spike in April 2024 brought Southtown back into focus — those Sonny Sandoval barks still hit twenty years on.
