American singer and actor

Josh Groban, born in Los Angeles, studied acting before David Foster pulled him into music — a last-minute stand-in for Bocelli at the 1999 Grammys rehearsal with Celine Dion that launched everything. He's since sold 25 million records, earned a Tony nomination for playing Pierre in Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812, and took on Sweeney Todd on Broadway in 2023. You had a couple of stray plays back in 2006 and 2008 that went nowhere, but it clicked hard last December — straight into the seasonal catalog and "Remember When It Rained" from Closer.
