American musician (1966–1997)

Claude says:Born in Anaheim and raised rootless across Orange County as Scott Moorhead, Jeff Buckley was the son of folk-jazz musician Tim Buckley, whom he met only once at age eight. He spent a decade as a session guitarist in Los Angeles before developing a following in New York's East Village, signed to Columbia, and released his sole studio album Grace in 1994; while working on a second album in Memphis in 1997, he drowned in the Wolf River at thirty. You've been pulling on Grace since 2006, with returns scattered across long stretches — a burst in early 2012, then a few stray visits until the album came roaring back in early 2024 and again through late 2025.
