American rock band from New York City

Claude says:Interpol formed in Manhattan in 1997, emerging from the same Luna Lounge scene as the Strokes and the National before becoming one of the defining names of the 2000s post-punk revival. Their staccato bass, interlocking guitars, and snare-heavy production recall Joy Division and Television, and their debut Turn on the Bright Lights was named Pitchfork's top album of 2002. You came in during the self-titled era in 2010, then came back years later — "The Heinrich Maneuver" and "Obstacle 1" are still your go-tos when the mood tilts cold and precise.
