British band

Claude says:Doves are a Wilmslow trio who started as Sub Sub, a dance act with a 1993 UK top-three hit, then reinvented themselves as an indie rock band after their Ancoats studio burned down in 1996 — a loss so total they called it liberating. You locked into them in mid-2009 with Kingdom of Rust, their third album, and it's still the one you return to: every track in your top eight comes from it, especially the title cut and "Jetstream," while The Last Broadcast only showed up properly in 2023, years after the fact.
