American punk rock band

Laura Jane Grace started Against Me! in Naples, Florida in 1997, moved to Gainesville, and built the band from solo project to punk staple — they signed to Sire for 2007's New Wave, the album that reached no. 57 on the Billboard 200. You grabbed onto them in October 2008, playing tracks off New Wave over the course of that month, then let them go. It was a brief, concentrated encounter with their major-label moment, never revisited.
