Claude says:Yellowcard's fifth album landed in 2006 as a deliberate pivot away from the pop-punk polish of Ocean Avenue, leaning heavier into alternative rock and built as their first concept record about the band's own maturation and what they were feeling during production. You got into it in summer 2007, a year after release, and burned through it in a single month — the title track, "Down on My Head," "Grey," and "Rough Landing, Holly" all got worn in. That burst faded quickly, though you circled back once in 2021 to revisit what used to hit.
