Claude says:Jack White called this the most misunderstood entry in the Stripes discography — recorded alone in his house during early 2005 as the Detroit scene turned ugly and he couldn't figure out where home was anymore. You grabbed it in December 2012, seven years after release, and spent a winter working through the marimba experiments and Rita Hayworth truth-telling ("Blue Orchid," "My Doorbell," the piano-heavy stuff that rattled critics who wanted more fuzz). A stray visit in 2024, but it mostly lives back in that 2012 window when the breaking-point record finally made sense.
