Released 2005

loveindiesmoothamazingrock

The Myriad started as a Seattle university project in 2001, released their debut a few years later, then won MTV2's Dew Circuit Breakout in 2007 before drummer Randy Miller's death in 2010 sent them into a long hiatus. Their first album sounds like early-2000s indie rock with enough melodic heft and piano to set them apart from the garage-band pack. You caught them in spring 2008, right as their second record was getting MTV play, and "Perfect Obligation" and "Stretched Over" anchored a handful of intense weeks with this one before you moved on.
