Claude says:The Killers' debut pulled off the rare trick of sounding both immediately huge and slightly desperate — new wave gloss meets post-punk urgency, recorded mostly as demos in 2003 that the band kept for their raw energy. You scattered a few dozen plays across the late 2000s but it didn't properly click until mid-2010, six years after release, and since then it's become a fixture you revisit in waves. "All These Things That I've Done" and "Mr. Brightside" lead your plays, but you've clearly lived deep in the album cuts too — "On Top," "Andy, You're a Star," the Murder Trilogy piece "Jenny Was a Friend of Mine."
