Claude says:The Cinematics were a Glasgow band who put out two albums before splitting up in Berlin while recording a third — this one, their 2009 follow-up to A Strange Education, was self-produced after label drama left them adrift. It's moody alternative rock with new wave edges, built around Scott Rinning's vocals and songs like "New Mexico" and "Moving To Berlin" that lean into longing and restlessness. You picked it up in 2012, played it hard that August, then let it sit for over a decade before circling back in 2023 and again this year.
