soundtrack2010

The Black Keys — Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney's Akron blues-rock duo — contributed "Chop and Change" to this vampire-franchise soundtrack alongside their 2010 breakthrough with Brothers. Their gritty, basement-bred garage sound feels like an odd fit for glittering teen melodrama, but the placement worked. You gave it a cursory spin in early 2011 and moved on — "Chop and Change" is the only track that registered.
