Claude says:Recorded at the peak of Beatlemania in late 1964, this is the Beatles at their most exhausted and introspective — only eight originals, the rest covers of Carl Perkins and Chuck Berry to fill the gaps between tours. You came to it 45 years after release, in November 2009, cycling through "Eight Days a Week," "I'll Follow the Sun," and the darker Lennon confessionals like "I'm a Loser." A few scattered returns over the years, but mostly a 2009–2011 window you've since moved past.
