Claude says:Jimmy LaValle started the Album Leaf as a solo project in 1998 while playing guitar in San Diego post-rock band Tristeza, building tracks around Rhodes piano, drum machines, and synthesizers. This EP catches him in his spacious, ambient mode — gentle electronic textures and slow-motion melodies that barely disturb the air. You grabbed it in mid-2012 and played through "Brennivin," "Malmo," and "Seal Beach" a few times that summer, then left it alone until a brief revisit four years later.
