Claude says:Sufjan Stevens, the Detroit-born multi-instrumentalist who made his name with symphonic indie-folk, has always toggled between devotional seriousness and mischievous charm — his yuletide box set proved he could do both at once. This volume lands somewhere between reverent hymnody ("Lo! How a Rose") and winking camp ("Get Behind Me, Santa!"), with oboe and banjo tangled up in sleigh bells. You cycled through it across a couple Decembers, returning to the sacred numbers and the oddball originals alike, then let it go quiet once the season passed.
