Claude says:Recorded in Iceland with producer Ken Thomas, this was the 1999 breakthrough that replaced the ambient drones of their debut with Jónsi's cello-bowed guitar and double string octets — palindromic string parts, backmasked intros, vocals in Vonlenska gibberish. You picked it up in 2018, nearly two decades after release, then let it sit quiet for years before it came roaring back in early 2026, leaning hard on "Svefn-g-englar" and the title track.
