Claude says:Alex Brown Church leads Sea Wolf out of Los Angeles, an indie folk outfit he started after finding his songs didn't suit his previous band Irving — he named it after a Jack London novel about a self-taught sea captain. Old World Romance leans into warm, patient folk-rock with steady drums and Church's unhurried voice threading through arrangements that feel like late afternoon light. You grabbed it right when it came out in early 2013 and leaned hard into Old Friend and Kasper, then kept circling back through long gaps — it's had five separate runs in your rotation, the kind of record that disappears for a year or two before you remember how good those chord changes feel.
