Claude says:Reuben and the Dark is a Calgary indie folk band fronted by singer-songwriter Reuben Bullock, who signed to Arts & Crafts in 2013 after a pair of solo records. This debut is widescreen and reverent, built on swelling strings and Bullock's aching voice — the kind of record that reaches for the rafters without quite losing its footing. You found it right away in mid-2016, two years after release, and burned through it hard that summer: "Bow and Arrow" and "Devil's Time" especially, but you cycled through most of the tracklist before stepping back for the better part of a decade.
