Claude says:The only studio album to feature all four founding members of the Red Hot Chili Peppers — Anthony Kiedis, Flea, Hillel Slovak, and Jack Irons — came out in 1987 and landed somewhere between their early funk rock scrappiness and the heavier sound they'd push toward. It's also the last record with Slovak, who died of an overdose the following year, making it both a high-water mark for the original lineup and a document of something that couldn't last. You gave it a single play in May 2021, landing on "Me and My Friends" but never circling back.
