Claude says:Berlin's Neue Deutsche Härte giants released this in 1997, their second album after the sleeper success of Herzeleid, and it hit number one in Germany on the strength of "Engel" and "Du hast" — two songs that turned industrial metal into something like pop without losing the crunch. Heavy synthesizers, military drumming, and Till Lindemann's baritone bark made it sound like a factory floor anthem collection. You picked it up in 2009, more than a decade after release, and spent a few intense months with it — "Engel" and "Du hast" got most of the spins, but you also dug into the heavier album cuts like "Bück Dich" and the quieter "Klavier."
