Claude says:Pete Yorn arrived as a one-man-band wunderkind in 2001, playing nearly every instrument on his gold-selling debut and earning Rolling Stone's notice as a songwriter to watch. This record is a low-lit collection of drum-machine ballads and guitar rock that splits the difference between Elliott Smith's introspection and the Wallflowers' radio sheen — songs like "For Nancy" and "Strange Condition" feel like they were written for late-night drives through empty suburbs. A few stray plays in 2006 didn't register, but it finally clicked for you in early 2007 and stuck around through 2010, with "Life On A Chain" and "On Your Side" among the tracks you kept closest.
