Claude says:Nothing But Thieves recorded this concept album in a rented Essex country house, building a narrative around fictional characters in a dystopian "Dead Club City" — a place they leave deliberately vague (shared consciousness? corporate wasteland? heaven?). The funkier edge landed them their first UK number one, with Luke Brickett's retro-futurist cover inspired by Expo 70 and Epcot. You grabbed it the month it came out in 2023 and stayed deep in it through fall, then circled back hard this year — "Overcome" and the dancey title track still hit.
