Mogwai's third album marked a textural shift — Dave Fridmann produced it in New York, they brought in synthesizers for the first time, and the blown-out contrasts gave way to something more layered. A lone play in 2009 didn't stick, but it finally clicked in March 2022, two decades after release. You went straight to "Take Me Somewhere Nice" and the Welsh-voiced "Dial: Revenge," then let it go again.
