Claude says:Mae came out of Norfolk, Virginia in 2001 with a soft spot for atmospheric emo-rock, releasing The Everglow in 2005 before jumping to Capitol for the slicker Singularity and then going on indefinite hiatus in 2010. You had a few stray plays in 2014 that didn't stick, but the album finally clicked in late 2017 — five years after Mae called it quits — and you spent a month with "The Ocean," "Suspension," and the title track before letting it drift again.
