Claude says:Kaiser Chiefs' second album landed in February 2007 with Stephen Street back behind the board, trading Employment's wide-eyed energy for something darker — street crime, tabloid lies, the sour side of fame — across 22 songs whittled down to 13. Lead single "Ruby" gave them their only UK number one, but you didn't come around until October 2014, seven years after release, after a dozen stray plays that never stuck. "Ruby" and "The Angry Mob" still do the work, but you kept reaching for "Heat Dies Down" and deeper cuts like "Highroyds" and "Learnt My Lesson Well" through scattered runs in 2015, 2020, and as recently as early 2025.
